Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
A shield 3 inches (7.62 cm) in height and 2 1/4 inches (5.72 cm) in width of red charged with a Roman "V", 2 inches (5.08 cm) in length, and in base three dots approximately 1/8 inch (.32 cm) in diameter and a dash approximately 9/16 inch (1.43 cm) in length, all in white.

Symbolism
The letter V dot dot dot dash, which is the Morris Code symbol for V, universally known and recognized as the symbol for Victory.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 2 June 1942.
